Facts and Questions

telehealth appointments

Psychology with Colette Harrison only offers telehealth appointments via Zoom or video platform/telephone, as requested or needed. Colette does offer limited face-to-face appointments on Fridays at a Frankston Penisular clinic.

This is for discrete and convenient appointments, saving travel time and allowing clients to access Colette’s expertise from all areas of Victoria and Australia.

Do I need a referral from a GP to see a psychologist?

You do not need a referral to see a Psychologist. You can call us, fill in the contact form, and make an appointment.

If your GP has completed a Mental Health Care Plan, Medicare rebates are available only with a valid Referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP. The following fees are effective from 1st July 2024—psychologist (general): $200.00 (Medicare rebate: $96.65).

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?

During your first appointment, you will meet with Colette Harrison, an experienced professional practitioner who will comprehensively assess your current concerns and symptoms. By the end of your first session, you will have a clear pathway to commence tackling the presenting issue.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions will differ for each person and will depend partly on the level of change you wish to achieve. Occasionally, people find that one session gives them enough self-awareness to make the desired changes. More commonly, people will attend between 4 and 10 sessions, while others will continue therapy for several months.

What if I wish to cancel an appointment?

Please be sure to give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or change your appointment time to avoid a late cancellation fee. Please note that rescheduling your appointment is subject to availability.
